How long have you been with Nitro?

I have been with NCS since June 1, 2005.

What was your first position with Nitro?

I worked in Accounts Payable.

What inspired you to pursue a career in construction or your specific trade?

I accepted a job in the construction industry out of necessity, but I stayed because it offers a unique blend of challenge, collaboration, and continuous learning. I genuinely enjoy the people I work with, and find the complexities of construction accounting both engaging and rewarding. No two days are ever the same at this job - there are new situations to navigate, new projects to understand, and new solutions to uncover. I've always loved puzzles and problem-solving, and this industry is full of both.

What sets Nitro apart from other companies in the industry?

What sets Nitro Construction apart is its people. Our employees are hardworking, conscientious, and passionate about their craft. Despite having multiple different contracting divisions, we work collaboratively and support one another. We also have leadership that invests in our growth and success.

What motivates you most in your work?

Even though I’m not estimating or running projects, I still feel that the accounting department plays an important role in every project’s success. We work hard as a team to keep things running smoothly for operations, and it’s rewarding when we’re not just avoiding issues—but actively helping the divisions and field deliver profitable results.

How long have you been with Nitro?

I have been with NCS since January 2002.

What was your first position with Nitro?

My first position with Nitro was providing on-site IT and construction engineering support for a large construction project. Prior to this role, dedicated on-site IT support had not been part of Nitro’s operations. This position marked an important step in integrating technology directly into field operations, strengthening coordination between project teams and the company’s technology systems.

What inspired you to pursue a career in construction or your specific trade?

I was inspired to pursue a career in IT within the construction industry by the opportunity to connect technology with real-world operations. I’ve always been drawn to the challenge of modernizing traditional workflows, enhancing communication between field and office teams, and implementing data-driven solutions that make the company more efficient and collaborative.

What motivates you most in your work?

What motivates me the most in my work is knowing that the systems and solutions that my team and I implement directly help our employees perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively. I enjoy solving complex problems, improving workflows, and using technology to make day-to-day operations more efficient and connected across the organization. Seeing how IT can simplify communication, reduce downtime, and strengthen overall company performance is what drives me to keep improving our systems and processes.

How long have you been with Nitro?

I started in 2012 as a third-party safety consultant and became a full-time employee in 2016.

What inspired you to pursue a career in construction?

I was inspired by my father who did environmental work for ExxonMobil in Pittsburgh, PA.

What motivates you most in your work?

Innovation is what motivates me in my field as Corporate Safety Director. Processes are always changing and evolving which introduces new risks and new mitigation ideas. Every day in safety is a new opportunity to learn. Each day is different.

My first project was to travel the Eastern US to build relationships with some of the Largest and Best General Contractors in the US.

What inspired you to pursue a career in construction or your specific trade?

I personally don't have a specific trade but I was inspired to pursue a Business Development career in the construction industry because I have always had a passion for building and constructing as you can see it unfold before your eyes.

What motivates me the most is the excitement of bringing in a large construction opportunity that will make a difference not only for Nitro, but the lives of all Nitro employees.
